Our participation in Riolab consisted into the editing and post-production of the 360º shots that were taken with an 8K camera, to have the best definition to be able to show all the details of this ecosystem. Composition work and perspective reconstruction to adapt it to the projection. We made animations, transitions, color correction and grading, etc. We work together with the Chilean filmmaker Dominga Sotomayor and the Franco-Chilean photo director Benjamín Echazarreta.
The project consisted of making a 360º projection inside a conical structure with fine profiles that supports a membrane composed of algae native to peat bogs and with a multi-channel sound system. Thanks to several video projectors that will rear project, the images over these translucent vegetal walls and the public that is inside will have the impression of being inside one of these peat bogs and immersing themselves in it. Plus, with multi-channel audio for surround sound and a truly immersive experience.
Participation in the shooting of a US commercial for Citibank and their card Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Card. Incredible to see all the resources that were invested to carry out this project. Several weeks of shooting in different locations in Santiago and regions. Many people for the staff. Many trucks full of material at each location. The best cameras, optics, all the material in general. What a pleasure to work in these conditions!
My job as a special effects assistant consisted of making all the clean shots to be able to generate the plates for the FX. Taking photos and videos of textures, objects, people, etc. Everything useful for the post-production.
